Since her early days studying Psychology at the University of Chester, Lauren has been devoted to student wellbeing and activism. She has worked on various committees and societies dedicated to disabled students, LGBT+ students, and mental health. Her previous role with MIND gave her insight into the pressures young people and students are facing, especially those in minority groups. Having worked within NUS Membership since 2018, Lauren prides herself on her skills in organisation development, membership engagement, events support, and her passion for the student movement, ensuring diversity, equality, and accessibility are always central. Lauren was born in Southampton but grew up in Northumberland, which means her accent changes regularly. You will often find her playing with her two rescue cats or listening to musical theatre soundtracks on repeat. Lauren is also a proud Youth Champion for PAPYRUS, the young suicide prevention charity.
